Second Saturday Ladies began in 1984 as the community outreach of the Women's Ministry. Since that time, over 55,000 lunches have been prepared and delivered to the families of patients in the intensive care units at Vanderbilt Hospital and frontline medical staff.

100 lunches are also delivered to homeless Nashvillians through the outreach efforts of the staff at the Cookery.

Every month cards are signed and mailed to shut-ins and special people. Perhaps the most meaningful part of 2nd Saturday is our prayer time. Every good gift comes from God and every lunch and card is given in the name of Jesus. It is amazing for the ladies attending to hear how Jesus takes a simple sack lunch and blesses the lives of those receiving it.
